From High School to NBA

The 2005-06 Duke Blue Devils men's basketball team, coached by Mike Krzyzewski, featured a talented young player named J.J. Redick.

In the summer of 2005, Redick was selected to the USA Under-21 World Championship Team and helped the team earn two victories over the eventual gold medalists.

In his freshman year at Duke, Redick led his team with 30 points in their victory over NC State in the ACC Tournament championship game. He went on to average 26.8 points per game in the 2005-06 season and became the number 2 all-time scorer in the ACC with 2,769 points, placing him third all-time in the conference.

Redick's impressive college career led him to be selected 11th overall in the 2006 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic. He currently plays for the New Orleans Pelicans.
